Assistant Editor

Tested and reviewed musical keyboard instruments and audio processing software. Interviewed artists. Authored and edited copy. Edited sheet music. Established relationships with and made assignments for freelance writers. Completely redesigned the 30-year-old title as part of a 4-member team; conducted focus groups in 3 cities, created new editorial focus, graphic design, and marketing strategy.

2001 -  2002
Quality Assurance Associate

Performed white- and black-box testing of drivers, applications and PCI, USB and RS-232 peripherals. Evaluated OEM products for resale, tracked defects with local and remote (Apples RADAR) databases, developed and tested InstallShield, Mindvision, and Apple Installer setups on Windows, Mac OS 9, and Mac OS X. Created internal documentation, worked closely with end-user tech support, reviewed end-user documentation, maintained PCs for testing. Participated in weekly Engineering meetings. Helped re-write and test Keyspan's Linux USB/Serial driver. Tested pre-release versions of OS X in cooperation with Apple.

Miscellaneous
I've composed a small body of chamber music, from which a brass quartet was premiered at NYU in 1999. I'm also interested in music theory and instrument design -- I designed and built a 28-string electric slide guitar in 1997, and I am internationally recognized as an expert on the subject of musical instrument tuning.
