Lead Systems Analyst WITH roles of a Team Lead and a Data Architect.
Worked as a Lead Systems Analyst for the Reports Verification Team of Pfizer Incentive Compensation Data
Warehouse. Redesigned all the existing Data Warehouse Reports according to the new Sales Structure

FFO. Conducted Meetings and Discussions with the third party vendor to develop testing strategy for the new reports. The reports ware being deployed in the new Excel Spreadsheet format and the old Oracle Reports 6i Format was abandoned. Prior to this implementation, Architected and Deployed a complete scalable solution with the CSC Team for an automated Reports Verification System for all the Incentive Compensation Reports. Developed Design Documents and Technical Analysis Documents to express both Logical and Physical Architecture of the new database schema. Developed, tested and deployed a comprehensive set of UNIX shell scripts to execute all the disparate processes in the Warehouse application Oracle Package Execution, Informatica PowerCenter Server calls and other technologies.

Responsibilities

Architected the solution for Automated Incentive Compensation Verification system. This involved Logical and Physical Architecture Design, Functional Requirement Design, Extraction and Loading Strategy, Load Testing Strategy, Designing Unit Test Plan Format.
Implemented Relational Logical and Physical Data Modeling for 3 schema in the project

Designed Informatica Workflows and other forms of metadata mappings and sessions and documented it for passing it on to the Informatica Team for development.
Conducted preliminary functional requirements gathering meetings for the Variance Analysis project with the Incentive Compensation Team to put forward a design.
Re-design the Sales Incentive Compensation Reports according to the new field structure and liased with a third party company developing these reports into the new Excel Spreadsheet format.
Implemented Dimensional Modeling for a Data Mart for the Sales Channel Report. This schema was designed to be snow flaked and had dimensions of product, channel and time.
Designed Dimensions and Cubes using the Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL*Plus to be used by the OLAP team in their applications.
Working with the Design Team to architect, design and develop some of the existing Upstream processing using Designer Tools ERWin and finalizing the data model. Both Dimensional Modeling and Relational Modeling was used to achieve this.

Introduced the application of Materialized Views for the Reports Verification Team and other audiences so that they could view the Aggregated Sales Data as opposed to writing raw queries.
Worked with the Incentive Compensation FFCS team to provide support for Downstream reporting processes. This system was primarily a heavy process oriented data warehouse with the central tables designed in a Star Schema.
Designed, Developed and Deployed the project to automate the generation of Excel Formatted Spreadsheet reports with multiple tabs using the latest Java Apache Jakarta POI Project. This included the development of a Java Program interfacing with Oracle to extract and present the data in XLS format.
Maintained and Supported a. NET Variance Analysis Application with capability to generate reports on demand.
Investigated for future implementation, the need to use Informatica ETL software to streamline the data loading process which loads provider and prescriber sales data files from IMS and NDC into the system.
Designed and developed a Shell Script to automate the execution of the entire Reports Verification Process starting from the loading of the comparison tables, execution of the Informatica Software on UNIX, running the Exception Report using Oracle Reports and storing the output files in the appropriate format to be used by the Pfizer ISIS Reporting System

Department of Social Services is a Massachusetts State Government providing social services in the area of Child Abuse and Neglect, Adoption, Foster Care and Domestic Violence. The heart of the Information Technology System is the award winning OLTP FamilyNet system developed with Federal Assistance in 1996. Lead a team of Developers, Business Analysts and testers for a significant enhancement to the most used application in FNET, Intake Information. Coordinated with testers/end-users to roll out the migration from Oracle 7.3.4 to Oracle 9i and Forms 6 to Forms 6i. Frequently met with Functional Leads, Project Leads, FRST Team and other different groups to figure out innovative ways to enhance the application both functionally and technically. Developed applications in Pro*C to process Medicaid transactions and write scripts to interface with another agency DMA and monitor the batch jobs. Lead an effort with a Data Mining Analyst to write algorithm for Demographics Matching between 2 agencies DSS and DTA. Re-designed an Archiving System to achieve better efficiency and graphical interfaces for the Area Offices. Conducted training on general technology issues UNIX, Oracle 8i/9i, OOPS, Java for peer developers and analysts.

Developed an interface transaction application with Pro*C, Stored Procedure and UNIX Shell scripts to send data to Department of Medicaid.
Designed and tested a Demographic matching pattern algorithm to link the beneficiary between the 2 agencies DSS and DTA. This included extracting the data from DTA files and using SQL*Loader to load them and process them in the DSS application.

Developed a utility using both the SQL*Loader Direct Path method and Conventional Method to interface the MCAS data for the kids from the Department of Education.
Re-engineered a heavy Forms 6i Front End module for Intake Information by moving most of the Client Level code from Libraries and Program Units into Oracle 9i Back end package and using Oracle 9i features Dynamic SQL using execute immediate, Bulk Collect, VARRAYS, Object types.
Lead the effort for Optimization of ALL queries on the Front End applications after the migration from Oracle 7.3.4 to Oracle 9i

Re-designed a new Archiving Application in Forms 6i Builder or Reports 6i Builder and introduced creation of reports in Acrobat PDF format. The initial design was done using Oracle Designer 6i

Worked with a team to evaluate a third party tool AddressBroker to check the addresses entered in the system using a United States Post Office database. This enhancement is being tested for a future release.

Janus is 1 of the biggest mutual fund companies in the United States. Initially performed the role of a UNIX System, Database Administrator for a large scale middleware implementation project. Responsibilities included installation of HP-UX 11.0 network configuration, printer configuration, installation of Oracle 8i, creating a database, configuring back office applications like PVCS Tracker for the Oracle database. After setting up the environment, joined the team as an Oracle Developer developing functional back end objects using Packages and Stored Objects.

GAB Robins is the leading third party insurance administrator for all lines of business. Performed the role of Data Research Analyst and responsible for enhancing the Warehouse process. This process was the ultimate and reliable source for most of reporting. Techniques tkprof explain plan on a lot of resource intensive queries was done and the process shortened. Besides this, the hugely concurrent OLTP claims handling systems was optimized for performance and enhancement. A batch process involving dozens of Oracle 7.3.4 database objects like packages, stored procedures and functions achieved warehouse loading. OLTP system was developed in Forms 4.5. Some of the reporting applications were written in C and Pro*C. Other tools like Oracle Discoverer 2000 and COGNOS PowerPlay, Impromptu were evaluated.

Systems Analyst

Involved in a wide variety of projects for SHCIL like SNS, SLS, Excess Benefits and Weekly Activity Maintenance. The first 3 projects involved preparing the preparing customer requirements, designing the data objects, technical requirements and developing the applications. Development was done on Form 4.5 PowerBuilder 5.0 with the database triggers and stored procedures, packages and function as a part of it. The third project was aimed at redeveloping of an existing weekly activity report in dbase. Implementation was a Java 1.1 application using the JDBC API. Connectivity was achieved using JDBC ODBC Bridge using 32 - bit ODBC. It was proposed to use a Type 3 Pure Java driver at a later stage.
