My responsibility was to define a strategy for Testing the Actuarial Data Store built using DataStage and MS SQL Server as the backend.

Following tasks were to be completed :
Define a Test Strategy for testing the DataStage jobs

Own the process document for implementing the Best Practices in DataStage development

Create Templates for Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases and appropriate Test Scripts

Use Track Record for Defect management and generate reports on defect metrics

Use Visual Source Safe for Version Control of documents.

Prepare Test Scripts for testing the Interface Objects developed in MS SQL. The SQL scripts and Stored procedures had to be tested before calling them in the source DataStage jobs

Own the Version Control for promotion of jobs using DataStage Version Control, DataStage Manager.

Test the jobs using DataStage Director and Designer. Verify that the Load in the target has the business rules applied on the source data by executing alternate SQL scripts using SQL Analyzer

Manage the timeline on a base lined project plan in MS Project

In accordance with the Federal Regulations, all Reports reaching the investors have to comply with the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002, Section 404 This is audited by leading Audit companies based on the results from User Acceptance Tests of the products released by Moody's and used by Analysts worldwide.

My responsibility was to define a strategy for UAT to test the Analysts Tools developed in-house.

Several tasks enumerated below were to be completed before the financial year ending :
Define a Test Strategy for UAT

Modify the company wide 'Policy and Procedure Document' to include UAT requirements, highlighting Management's role in assessment.

Create Templates for Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases and appropriate Test Scripts

Use Qtrack, a company wide Task and Issue management tool, where Users reporting issues are resolved by the developers, unit tested, QA verified, before subjecting to UAT. The tasks logged as Request for Enhancement or Request for Maintenance, were additionally re-processed by the design team before being submitted to the developers

Use Visual Source Safe for Version Control of documents.

Prepare Test Scripts for testing the Analyst Tools and Qtrack issues.

'Own' the UAT process to map the results to the Auditor's requirements for Management's Sign Off on the 'Acceptance Release' document after all UATs were PASSed.

My primary responsibility was to conceptualize a departmental testing facility to test a Data Warehousing project, with the following key tasks :
Working closely with the Program Manager, managing testing resources for 4 projects, monitoring the Test process, version control and Bug tracking process

Define Test Strategy for testing Data Warehouse components developed using DataStage, Oracle Reports and Business Objects Reports. Based on the Iterative Project Management, taking the customer feedback at each level of sub deliverable.

This is an integrated e-commerce CRM solution developed using Microsoft Technology. This application consolidated business applications and processes by integrated various satellite applications and databases and removing redundant applications. Complete consultant management was possible with localization, multi country, multi currency changeover properties for payment and receivables. Worked on extensive Business Intelligence reporting, planning and delivery milestones throughout the project. Several Change Management Processes were implemented and reporting was reviewed on a continuous basis. Test suites, Test plans were scripted, reviewed and executed throughout the project at various levels. Few interface modules tested with WinRunner.

Phase II of the project with Oracle as back end for another multi national client, UNISYS. Managed the project metrics using 2 different Estimation Methods. This was an 11 man year project with 22 developers, 2 project leaders executed on an on-site, offshore model.

During the execution of the project I received bonus for managing this responsibilities and setting up the Centralized Testing Center .

Development of components and applets, functioning as standalone application for trading. There are 2 ways of fetching data from different servers at Stock Exchanges through MyTrack host, 1 is Historical and the other is Dynamic Intraday. Historical fetches the data till the previous day. User can fetch daily, weekly and monthly data to draw the chart. Dynamic Intraday would fetch data for fixed intervals. This is in minutes or hours for last 30 days which is accomplished using threading. The properties like color, Grid and Plot Spacing is set for each graph. Overall testing the product with WinRunner.

The driver would spider scan the entire internet for all available brands, prices, year of manufacture and location availability across the world, etc. Once they were mined, the data was sorted accordingly and report generated.
