Job Description
Private/General Ward
Performs as a charge and bedside nurse.
Carry out doctors orders.
Assists doctors in minor procedures lumbar puncture, cut-down procedure, thoracentesis, paracentesis, arthrocentesis, vaginal examinations and some diagnostic procedures etc.
Do some blood extrations.
Inserts intravenous line, foley catheters and nasogastric tube as ordered.
Give health teachings and home instructions.
Handles bedside apparatus and machines BP app., Oxygen app., suction machines, nebulizers, glucometer, ECG machine, cardiac monitor, pulse oxymeter, mechanical ventilator, defibrillator, IV infusor and perfusor etc.
And execute independent nursing functions.
Operating Room
Performs as a scrub, circulating and recovery room nurse on assigned cases.
Assist anesthesiologist in the induction of anesthesia and on ET tube extubation.
Carry out doctors intra and post-op orders.
Handles machines and secures attachments. oxygen app., cardiac monitor, pulse oxymeter, anesthesia machine, cautery machine, suction machine, gomco machine PHACO machine, LAP machine etc.
Diligently documents operative procedures on appropriate forms.
Encodes charges of items used.
Maintains cleanliness, orderliness and completeness of all OR suits.
Does pre-operative visits on patients scheduled.
Endorse patient back to room or ward.
