Project : Secondary Dealer Interest Payments

Project Descriptions :
The amount that DTG pays for secondary dealer interest was identified as an area of expense that could be improved to save money. The payment cycle related to secondary dealer interest for DCX Daimler Chrysler vehicles is reduced, reducing the interest charges that DTG pays to secondary dealers.
The first phase of this project handled the immediate need of paying for these DCX vehicles as quickly as possible. The A/P payment cycle was increased from twice a week to 5 times a week. For the Fleet Accounting Department, that meant getting the DCX invoice data into the Fleet Legacy System as soon as it was received electronically from DCX. The second phase of this project will handle automating the selection of the invoices from every manufacturer for payment based on new user-configured dealer payment terms. The invoices is paid immediately if necessary or will wait as long as possible to be paid, depending on the dealer payment terms established for that dealer.
