Design Engineer / Materials Engineer

Design duties : Design and prototyping of engine cooling systems for the trucking industry utilizing 3D CAD systems, Unigraphics NX, ProE Wildfire 2.0 and Catia V4 and V5. Maintain bills of material, dept. standards, GD and T standards, QS9000 and TS-16949 standards. Spearhead cost reduction ideas while maintaining product quality and reliability. Participated in design reviews, DFMEAs and PFMEAs.

Material duties : Investigate product failures by cross sectioning, potting and polishing samples at the failure areas. Analyze supplier aluminum and plastic components to determine material correctness. Utilize investigation software and microscopes to pin point problem material initiation sites.

Duties : 3D product design using Catia 4.1.7 and Cadds 5, extensive work with solids, surfaces and faces, interface directly with engineers for product design and development, design products for optimal manufacturability using GD and T standards.
