Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc EES develops and markets advanced medical devices for minimally invasive and open surgical procedures. The company focuses on procedure-enabling devices for the interventional diagnosis and treatment of conditions in general and bariatric surgery.
JnJ EES EDW project provides end to end solution and implementation for Enterprise Data Warehouse. Requirements gathering, Analysis ETL and business intelligence. Also provides the 24*7 support. Though the project has the onsite-offshore counter parts, the offshore is involved in analysis of the source system and data modeling. This is a unique characteristic for about this project.

Key Responsibilities in DATA IN ETL Tool : Informatica and Business Modeling Tool : Kalido : Understand the business requirements and perform source system analysis.
Based on the initial analysis, lay down 40% business model. This business model is further refined by talking to business, understanding the details, doing source system analysis.
Making sure the business model answers all the questions needed from the BI perspective.
Understand various metrics needed by the business for its operational and analytical answering.
Refine the Business model further if need be and mark it to completion.
The Business model has to fit the dimensional model so that it becomes easier for design and development.

Create Change Management documentation for assigned implementations

Designing a data model to support data merge activities, defining ETL extraction, transformation and loading procedures, identifying the environment and staging areas.

Create data model using Kalido. Create mappings for the summary load.
Develops and executes effective test plans to ensure quality and stability and mark it ready for System testing
After the successful completion of system testing, facilitate the User Acceptance testing. Depending upon, how the user want the UAT to be done, help in performing the UAT. Have series of meeting set up and make sure that the UAT is completed in the required timelines.
Make sure the release plan and the required job schedules are tested and facilitate the production move.
Understand and follow the IT Services transition process to ensure a smooth transition of support to Support Teams
