I am a Computer Engineer who is working for DHS as an IT network Specialist and Tier-1 Customer Service Lead, having a wide range of responsibilities at hand .I am responsible for setting up user accounts and roles, building and maintaining the infrastructure .I have experience working with the PBX, G3 console and spectra links. are involved in migrations to different platforms, also to Active Directory and migration into different domains and are active part of troubleshooting network and account problems.
Giving customer support through SMS System Management Server as a remote tool. Ensuring system and information security, installing servers, networks from scratch, phones in buildings for over 600 customers in a tight deadline during disaster activity. Part of my responsibility includes writing daily and weekly activity reports for the team using Avaya Software. Updating and maintaining network security while making sure customers follow DHS policies and standards.

I'm proficient using object oriented languages like C++ and others used in the industry and I know how to develop software projects having in mind the software lifecycle .I currently use this knowledge to troubleshoot problems with DHS proprietary software and give my insight regarding possible solutions. 1 of my latest projects was the automation of our Daily and Weekly reports using Remedy Software used to track trouble tickets and statistics. In this project I created queries that pull data from a Secure Oracle database using SQL Queries through a user interface written in Coldfusion, the queried data is posted in our intranet .I have completed this project and submitted the final report. This new software saves an average of 520 workforce hours and thousands of dollars a year to the team. Part of my job includes traveling to different centers in the US to perform my responsibilities without supervision for several weeks, in an environment where making sound decisions and having an I can do it attitude is important.

Part of the Network Administrator team, improving and maintaining of the Caribbean network for the Department of Homeland Security - FEMA and giving support to the DRC customers Disaster Recovery Centers maintaining system availability at times of disaster. Installing new networks in different disaster recovery facilities in a tight deadline and under difficult and limited resources .I created a MS database for the tracking of government assets.

Research Scientist

Creating a spy helicopter for the PR Police Department, used for law enforcement. Using Wescam and Flir as providers for high resolution equipment and Tran receivers. The main purpose of the project was to manage the helicopter from inside a room, with goggles and a small station, using a low revolution engine to lower detection and motion. This project was conducted as a government proposal for the Police Department.

Working for GE Transportation Systems division, in the creation of a Computer Aided Dispatch CAD through Artificial Intelligence to automate train systems throughout the nation, using software development tools in Java and C++. Also generating User Interface tools for the CAD system and for data verification. Both Jbuilder and Microsoft Visual Studio were used. This system required Networking knowledge and implementation of an interface .I used several modeling languages like UML and tools like Rational Rose and Visual Studio. Part of my job consisted of developing goals, objectives and creative ways of achieving customer requests by either changing the software or implementing a new Network or hardware architecture .I had to submit weekly and monthly reports in a group meeting to give oral and written presentations regarding the progress of my group segment.
