Trane

2007 - 2009 Project engineer with the LaCrosse Business Unit project development group .I was responsible for project management of a new chiller configuration .I led a team of engineering and technical personnel in the engineering, planning and execution of the project .I developed and revised the required documentation, system specifications, engineering analyses and project schedules working with team members, upper management and internal customers.

2005 - 2007 Project engineer with the Thermal Systems group. Performed initial sizing analyses and developed initial models for the heat exchangers for an advanced centrifugal compressor. Managed the theoretical modeling, configuration development and fabrication of these exchangers

2002 - 2005 Mechanical Engineer working for the compressor development group. Supported the development of an advanced compressor using hybrid ceramic bearings in an oil-free application. This included design calculations, directing bench and prototype compressor testing and field trials. Worked with the compressor reliability group to evaluate improved methods of reliability testing and lubrication distribution in small scroll compressors.

1997 - 2002 Mechanical Engineer working for the laboratory compressor test engineering group. Responsibilities included designing, specifying, acquiring and overseeing the installation of specialized power and fluid measurement systems for compressor tests. Managed the development of a 5 year plan to upgrade facilities in the compressor testing area.

January, 1984 -  December, 1996
Engineer

US Air Force

1990 - 1997 Aerospace Engineer with the Aeronautical Systems Center. Later work involved performing engineering evaluations of potential concepts for new and innovative DoD weapon systems. These evaluations included ballistic analysis of proposed defensive countermeasures, performance evaluation of small hover jeep concepts for Special Operations Forces and independent verification of aspects of the Airborne Laser system and other analyses. Led a team of engineers, operations analysts and cost analysts to evaluate an advanced wing-in-ground effect vehicle as part of a $5M, congressionally-mandated study led by DARPA.

1987 - 1990 System Safety engineer for Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory. Responsibilities included safety engineering evaluations of aircraft like the X-29 and the F-15 SMTD. Also performed safety inspections and evaluations of laboratory operations for wind tunnel, aircraft structural and weapons testing laboratories.

1984 1986 Acquisition engineer writing system safety specifications for weapon systems being acquired and evaluating contractor performance in meeting those specifications. Programs worked included the MC-130H Combat Talon II and the CV-22 tilt rotor.

July, 1983 -  December, 1983
