Professional experience
Liz Claiborne North Bergen, New Jersey
Senior Systems Administrator 7/99 to Present
· Successfully completed the PA-RISC to Integrity migration consisting of 60+ PA-RISC servers residing on a Superdome, various rp8420s and miscellaneous N-Class servers. The new servers will reside on various BL860/70s, rx7460s and rx8640s.
· Successfully migrated our Openview OVO Management server from the old PA-RISC server to a new Integrity Blade server.
· Configured/installed and tested a new warehouse solution that requires multiple HP Integrity blades (BL870c and BL860c) running 11.23. The backend storage is housed on an HP EVA4400.
· Configured and installed a new customer service solution that required multiple HP VM guests running 11.31 on various RX6600 Integrity Servers.
· Developed various OVO Openview templates and monitors scripts to manage the various Linux clients.
· Configured multiple OVO Openview nodes across our DMZ zone.
· Currently involved in migrating various administrative tools from a PA-RISC environment to the I-64 development environment.
· Developed various courses in C programming and Shell programming for our in-house Unix Administrators.
· Currently involved in supporting four VMware guests running RHEL5 to support a Full Circle application for one of our West Coast apparel brands.
· Successfully managed the migration of all our leased EMC Symmetrix disk arrays. (DMX2000 to a DMX3), (DMX1000 and an 8830 to a DMX3).
· Responsible for configuring and implementing a “data recovery” solution utilizing EMC’s SRDF/Timefinder, between our New Jersey HQs (R1 Symm) and our New York facility (R2 Symm).
· Responsible for the planning/developing/testing/implementing a suite of shell scripts that automate the system Legato backups utilizing our Business Continuity Volumes (BCVs).
· Responsible for configuring and implementing a “data recovery” solution utilizing EMC’s SRDF between NJ (R1 Symm) and NY (R2 Symm).
· Migrated 12 N4000 servers to three RP8420 complexes consisting of 12 nPars.
· Upgraded the Core business application server from an HP V2500 to an HP Superdome (24 way, 24 GB of memory). Simultaneously coordinated the upgrade of the EMC symm disk storage array from an EMC 3930 to an EMC 8730 by having EMC copy the 3930 data to the 8730 via SDM copy. Eventually migrated 1 TB of data from the 8730 to a newly installed DMX. Migrated 5.5 TB of data from a DMX 1000 to a larger DMX 2000 array.
· Coordinated the OVO migration portion of the CISCO Layer 3 migration.
· Consolidated various K Class servers operating under HP-UX 10.20 to the HP “N” Class servers running HP-UX 11.0. Worked closely with various application groups to upgrade various application servers N(s) and V(s) from 11.0 to 11i.
· Received various professional acknowledgements from the CDI Imaging, PeopleSoft and Replenishment projects in the on-going support of both projects. Specifically in the areas of capacity management, performance analysis/system tuning and technical assistance.
